The Denver Chapter invites you, your spouse/guest and your family to our Annual Holiday Party.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 5, 4-6 p.m., at the home of Kevin ’85 and Patty Kelley. The cost for the event is $5 each for chapter dues paying members and $15 each for non-paying dues members. Children are free for this event.

Thanks to all who attended the Chapter Board Meeting – we had a great turnout: Elizabeth & Bennett Thompson, Greg Barrow, Ryan Howe, Charles Nusbaum, Megan Lott Wesley, Rebecca Brandt, Tiffany Todd and Alex Philpott.

As many of you may have experienced with other chapters, dues are a helpful way to manage and improve the events, gauge participation and support the Chapter, as well as the University.  The chapter was able to cover the cost of the Send-Off picnic and defray the costs associated with the Yield Party with funds received from membership dues. We hope you will participate with the form and envelope enclosed in the latest mailing.

In April, despite having to reschedule due to a spring snowstorm, we had a great turnout for the reception for accepted students at Gumbo’s on the 16^th Street mall.  At the reception, a few of the accepted students were still undecided about whether or not they would attend W&L this fall…the Denver Alumni must have been a convincing group, because they are all now members of the Class of 2013!  

Then in early August, we celebrated the upcoming school year for new and current students at a picnic in scenic Washington Park in Denver.  We had a great turnout – 50 people total!  On a very typical beautiful, sunny Colorado afternoon, a crew of local alumni and their families gathered to send off Mr. Keaton Fletcher (2013A), Ms. Haley Miller (2013A), Ms. Amy Marquit (2013A) and Mr. Bailey Walker (2013A). We wish them, and other new and returning students who could not join, all the best this fall at W&L.

Our Denver Chapter Holiday Party will be the afternoon of December 5th, 2009.  We have not yet determined a location — if you have suggestions, or would even like to host, please let us know.
